Edith
took up ceramics when she moved to this country (having
trained as a singer in Germany). She now works exclusively
in Raku from her studio in North Oxford.
Sound inspires her forms.
The fascination with the post firing process of Raku
is endless - it can make or
literally break the pot. Lustre, smoked effects and
the typical 'crazed' look are achieved at this stage.
Raku pots are low fired and marginally porous.
